In the Gospels, Jesus made it clear over and over again that eating and drinking with friends was not only a pleasant pastime, it was a sacred one. And he left us the promise that if we break bread together in his name he will be present in our midst. It wasn't the last prayer meeting, it was the last supper. Our Agape Meal will be a simple gathering to remind us that at the heart of our faith is physical, as well as spiritual nourishment.
Following the meal, we will move into the Church for the Stripping of the Altar and Reading of the Passion.
